On Monday, March 16, at the Consulate General of Italy in London, Marco Nica presented his thriller "The Secret of Nefertiti," an event organized by the Cultural Center "Il Circolo" and the Com.It.Es. of London. For the Nettuno-born author, this marked a new international stage, following his previous one in Madrid just ten days earlier. It was once again an opportunity to promote the city of the Trident beyond its national borders, once again in a major European capital. The presentation also included an extensive preface to his second thriller, "The Temple of the King," which was presented last November at Forte Sangallo in the presence of several local dignitaries. The author was joined by Anna Cambiaggi (Member of the Executive Committee of the Com.It.Es. of London) and Etta De Benedetti Carnelli (Director and Trustee of Il Circolo - Italian Cultural Association - London). The audience's response was nothing short of astonishing, with the venue already sold out for several days before the event. The Consul General of Italy, Domenico Bellantone, was also present. The writer commented on his new literary adventure: "Traveling the world presenting your works is an almost mystical artistic experience. You truly understand your life, your history, and your roots only when you cross borders and submit to the judgment of an increasingly broader audience of diverse cultural backgrounds. These are moments that make you grow, especially as a person, drawing new horizons and the desire to reach them. It's wonderful to meet people of other nationalities, but also fellow countrymen who welcome you with such warmth. You feel much more Italian when you live abroad, perhaps out of nostalgia or a newfound sense of patriotism. These are moments that are leaving a mark on me and that give me a huge push to improve even further. I believe that opportunities like Madrid and London have given Nettuno a different dimension from that of a small town in the Roman province. The history, customs, and traditions that concern us perhaps don't always correspond to the mentality that still seems to ignore these opportunities today. We must find the courage to step outside of local dynamics and have a broader vision. It's no coincidence that on the signs at the entrance to our city It says 'Neptune, Common to Europe'. Let's see if the cultural dynamics will change in the future. For now, I'm continuing my journey. I can be proud of the results achieved so far, relying exclusively on my own strengths."
